Professor Norm Williamson graduated from Melbourne University in 1968 and did an MVSc in cattle reproductive health management and an MANZCVS in the medicine and preventive medicine of dairy cattle. He spent the 1980's as Professor of Theriogenology and Herd Health at the University of Minnesota and gained a Dip. ACT in 1984. He moved to New Zealand as Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 1989. In 1998 he became Head of Undergraduate Teaching in the Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences and in 2000 became Programme Director (Dean) Veterinary Sciences. He “retired” in April 2012. Norm's teaching and research interests are in cattle health and management, specifically cattle reproduction, mastitis, heifer rearing, neosporosis and herd health records. He also has a great interest in all types of veterinary education. Since 2012 Norm Chaired the Veterinary Schools Accreditation Advisory Committee of the AVBC
