Johann Schroder

Johann Schröder After qualifying as a veterinarian at Onderstepoort in South Africa and a short stint in mixed private practice, Dr Schröder joined the multi-national pharmaceutical industry and specialised in veterinary parasitology, in which he holds a Master’s degree. His industry experience includes experimental design and management in the generation of data for the registration of a variety of animal remedies, such as several formulations of ivermectin and flumethrin for different species, technical training of sales staff and support in the form of field incident investigations. While employed by the pharmaceutical industry, he was based in South Africa, Germany and Australia. For the last decade, Johann has been working for two Rural R&D Corporations, managing producer-funded Animal Health, Biosecurity and Welfare research projects, first for Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) and latterly for Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA). Although heavily biased towards Parasitology, the project portfolio covers the range of veterinary conditions, including infectious diseases and toxicology, and addresses pathophysiology, diagnostic techniques, epidemiology, prevention and treatment
